Over 35 Years of Experience building Treasure Valley
With over 35 years of hands-on experience, Michael Kuhn brings a lifetime of craftsmanship, problem-solving, and genuine care to every project. As the heart behind our family-owned and operated business, Michael is known for his detailed work, open communication, and dedication to making the remodeling process an enjoyable experience for our clients.
Michael’s love for building started young—watching his father craft cabinets sparked a fascination that grew into a career. He began framing houses alongside his cousin, eventually running his own crew and starting his own company. From house additions and kitchen remodels to bathrooms and decks, including our specialty as a Trex Pro, Michael approaches every project with precision and a vision of the finished product long before the first nail is driven.
Outside of work, Michael is a devoted family man who loves camping, spending time with loved ones, and sharing laughs. His personable, caring nature is at the core of how we do business—building not just beautiful spaces, but lasting relationships. Recently, his daughter, Becca, joined the team. They have loved spending time working together and building TVRR as a local, multi-generational, true family business.
Our Project Process
We believe a successful remodel or build starts with clear communication, organization, and partnership. Here’s how we guide you from the first conversation to the final walkthrough:
-
We start with a free in-person or virtual meeting to understand your vision, needs, and budget. We’ll discuss design ideas, project scope, and any must-have features.
-
Based on our initial conversation and high-level scope, we provide a rough cost range. This helps determine if the project aligns with your budget before investing in design work.
-
Once the rough estimate is approved, our team works with you (and your designer or ours) to develop a detailed plan. We’ll refine layouts, select materials, and create a more precise budget.
-
We provide a clear, itemized proposal outlining the scope of work, materials, timeline, and costs—so you know exactly what to expect.
-
Once the proposal is approved, we sign a contract and secure your project on our schedule. We’ll also provide a projected start date and expected completion window.
-
We confirm all materials, permits, and logistics before we begin. This step ensures we hit the ground running and avoid delays.
-
Our skilled crew and trusted trade partners bring your project to life. We maintain open communication through regular updates, photos, and site meetings.
-
We conduct ongoing quality checks during the build to ensure every detail meets our standards (and yours).
-
When construction is complete, we walk through the project together, address any final adjustments, and ensure you’re satisfied.
-
We stand by our work with a warranty and remain available for questions or future needs.
We Build Differently
Client Education
One of our core values is client education. We believe that an informed client is an empowered client, which is why we take the time to explain the process, answer questions, and ensure you know what to expect every step of the way. Our approach is built on partnership—working together with you to bring your vision to life while making sure you feel confident and comfortable from start to finish.
Solve the Puzzle
We thrive on the “puzzle” of construction, especially intricate projects that others might shy away from. Our philosophy is simple: if the work doesn’t meet our high standards and isn’t something we’d proudly do in our own home, it won’t leave the workshop. We treat our clients like family, only sending trusted team members into homes—people we’d welcome into our own
Beyond Craftsmanship
Our team’s commitment goes beyond craftsmanship. We excel in communication, stay organized from start to finish, and help clients see the full potential of their living spaces. The goal is always the same: to transform a house into a home, blending beauty, functionality, and quality that lasts.

We have used Michael and Becca twice now for two different remodeling projects in our home. And if we think of another remodel in the future, they would be our first call. TVRR is a local business who has been doing this for years and it shows - they know what they are doing.

An important part of any business is approaching the work in good-faith. We think that starts with an eye towards fairness, doing what is right even when it costs us something. TVRR strives for fairness as a bedrock principle of our work.
-
Service starts with thinking about the needs and desires of the other person. Courtesy is an expression of this golden rule, to consider others more highly than ourselves. We work to serve our clients in everything we do.
-
We can't always control a time-table, but we can control how well we communicate with our clients and contractors. Promptness is an expression of care for others by communicating and planning to be on time whenever possible.
-
You don't pay for a job that is 90% done. You pay for a complete, beautiful space that is ready to move in. Your home isn't our workplace, it's not a construction site, it’s where you live. We strive to respect your home, your property, and you throughout the process, putting people ahead of profits.
