Two Months Later: Living in Our Completed Star Remodel
Two months have passed since we finished our home remodel in Star and welcomed clients, friends, and family for an open house.
Life has started to settle, and our routines are taking shape. Our family also grew when we welcomed a baby girl just before Christmas.
Bringing a baby into the mix while moving in and getting used to our new space has been a joy. And honestly, there’s no better test for a remodel than coming home with a newborn.
The dust is gone.
The cabinets are full.
Now these spaces support our real life; from late nights and busy mornings to toddlers, bottles, and everything in between.
We’ve realized that the most meaningful part of a remodel isn’t the big reveal. It’s the everyday moments.
What Really Matters After Move-In
Now that we’re back in our newly redesigned home, a few things stand out:
The layout works during busy mornings (which matter more than you think).
The extra space gives us room to breathe with two young kids.
The storage keeps the chaos from taking over.
The lighting and fireplace make late-night feedings feel cozy instead of exhausting.
The materials are holding up beautifully to kids, pets, and daily life.
The choices we made while planning have become part of our routine, and that’s exactly what we hoped for.
What This Project Taught Us
Living through our own remodel (and then bringing a newborn home to it) reminded us of what we always share with our clients:
Thoughtful planning makes all the difference.
Clear communication reduces stress.
Quality craftsmanship is worth it in the long run.
A home should support you through every season of life.
Experiencing it ourselves has made us even more empathetic, and it’s already shaping how we guide and manage projects going forward.
More Than Just a Portfolio Piece
Our home is more than a finished project. It’s where we’re raising our family.
It’s where we wake up to our six-week-old cooing in the morning.
It’s where we hear, “Daddddyyyy… up?” over the monitor.
It’s where we sink into the couch when both girls are finally asleep at the same time, take a deep breath, and feel grateful for the life happening inside these walls.
We want you to feel the same way about your home.
If you’re thinking about remodeling in Star, Eagle, Boise, or anywhere in the Treasure Valley, we’d love to help you plan a project that still feels good long after we’re done.
Because the true success of a remodel isn’t just how it looks in photos. It’s how well it fits your real life.
