Starting a New Remodel Project: Product Selections

One of our favorite parts of any remodel happens before demolition ever begins: product selections.

We’re gearing up to start a new project and have officially begun choosing finishes that will shape the overall look and feel of the space. These early decisions may seem small, but they’re what make a remodel feel cohesive, intentional, and tailored to the homeowner’s style.

A Timeless Pairing: Sage Cabinets + Calacatta-Style Quartz

For this project, we’re loving the direction so far: a soft sage cabinet finish paired with a Calacatta-style quartz. It’s a combination that feels warm and fresh without being trendy.

Why sage cabinetry works so well

  • Adds color in a calm, grounded way (not too bold, not too neutral)

  • Pairs beautifully with warm metals, wood tones, and white walls

  • Holds up visually over time;classic but still interesting

Why Calacatta-style quartz is a go-to

  • Brightens a space and keeps it feeling open

  • The veining adds movement without feeling busy

  • Durable and low-maintenance for everyday life

Together, the green cabinetry and light quartz create a balanced look: inviting, clean, and elevated.

Why Selections Matter Early

Choosing materials early helps us:

  • Confirm details that affect layout and installation (sizes, edge profiles, appliance specs, hardware spacing)

  • Avoid delays once construction starts

  • Keep the overall design consistent from one decision to the next

Selections are also where we can really dial in the homeowner’s goals—whether that’s “timeless and neutral,” “warm and cozy,” or “modern and high contrast.”

What’s Next

Next up is continuing to finalize the full finish palette so everything works together: cabinets, countertops, hardware, lighting, tile, and paint. As the project moves forward, we’ll share more behind-the-scenes moments and progress updates.

If you’re thinking about remodeling this year, the best time to start planning is before you’re ready to start construction. Product availability, lead times, and scheduling all go smoother with a little runway.
