Behind the Build: Drywall, Interior Paint, and Tile Showers
After the big push through framing, roofing, and mechanical systems, we finally reached one of the most satisfying stages of any remodel — drywall and interior finishes. This is where the project starts shifting from “construction zone” to “actual home,” and you can suddenly feel the personality of the space begin to take shape.
Drywall: The moment everything feels real
Once mechanical and framing passed inspection, our crew moved straight into hanging and finishing drywall throughout the project. Almost overnight, the house transformed from open studs and exposed wiring into real, livable rooms.
Smooth walls, clean corners, and fully enclosed spaces truly helped transition the project from blueprint to reality — and seeing these walls come together gave us our first real sense of how each space felt. Walking through the playroom, living room, and new primary suite with full walls up was such an exciting milestone.
Interior Paint: Bringing warmth to the walls
With drywall finished, it was time for interior paint — one of the most transformative steps in any remodel. This is where the home begins to develop its mood and character.
We chose colors that reflected the warmth and natural feel we love — tones that pair beautifully with our cabinetry, LVP flooring, tile, and the overall design direction of the home.
The first coat of paint always feels like the home is exhaling — suddenly the rooms brighten, soften, and come to life.
Tile Showers: Craftsmanship meets comfort
Tile is one of those things that instantly changes the feel of a bathroom, and once ours started going up, everything clicked. Seeing the walls come together in the showers — with the layout, spacing, and details falling into place — made the whole area feel pulled together and functional.
Our crew took their time getting everything aligned and laid out the right way — the kind of small details that make a space feel solid and built to last.
By the end of this stage, the house finally started to feel like a home again. With the walls up, fresh paint on every surface, and tile taking shape in the bathrooms, each room felt warm, intentional, and full of possibility. Seeing these pieces come together brought us one big step closer to the space we’ve been dreaming about for so long.
Here are a few photos from this stage — where the interior started taking on its true personality!
